22-Year-Old Man Drowns In Cultus Lake

Cultus Lake Death – Sgt. Forbes Cavanagh with the Chilliwack RCMP have confirmed the death of a 22-year-old man who drowned on Saturday, July 25 while swimming with two friends in Cultus Lake.

Reports says he was swimming with his friends when he went under and didn’t resurface.

In Cavanagh statement to Daily Hive,“It was a tragic accident,”  adding that there’s nothing criminal or suspicious about the death.

The victim’s body was pulled from the water in the afternoon, but he could not be revived, says Cavanagh.

The case is now being handled by the BC Coroner’s Service, Cavanagh said.

The agency investigates all sudden deaths in the province.
