WestConn Basketball, Bill Morlock passed away, December 13, 2019 at the age of 84. His cause of death was not said.
Below is Bill Morlock obituary first published Danbury High School website.
There have been some great family legacies in Danbury athletics-fathers and sons, uncles and nephews and brothers. The Morlock family is just one of those families as four brothers made impacts on the athletic fields and each story is worthy of induction to the Hall of Fame.
The oldest of the four Morlocks is 1953 graduate Bill Morlock. Bill played baseball and basketball in the early 1950’s and captained both teams as a senior. In 1953 the basketball team won their first FCIAC title in 25 years and a number four ranking in the state, but it was on the baseball squad that Bill really stood out as he was a three year starter for the Hatters.
After a stint in the army Bill began a career at Perkin-Elmer, retiring in 1990 as the Director of Corporate Computing and Telecommunications. The real story of Bill Morlock goes well beyond the athletic fields of 60 years ago.
Bill Morlock is, and has been, actively involved in volunteer ventures both in athletics and in the community. Even today, years after his retirement, he tutors both Danbury High and Western Connecticut State University athletes who need help.
His involvement, along with Ken Reed, have kept numerous DHS and WCSU athletes on task academically. He is always giving of his time and doing it with a smile.
