Briawna Nabors Death – The North Charleston police has reported a shooting that erupted outside a Waffle House in South Carolina and that has led to the death of a woman identified as 23-year-old Briawna Nabors.
Nabors, a Waffle House employee was shot after a dispute that started outside the North Charleston restaurant early Saturday, July 18, says WCBD.
Nabors died at the scene shortly before 1 a.m., says the North Charleston police.
A Waffle House customer who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and others were hurt in the shooting, says restaurant on Sunday.
According to the restaurant’s statement obtained by WCBD, “We are devastated and mourning the tragic death of one of our Waffle House associates, who was the unintended victim of senseless and reckless acts of violence that occurred early yesterday morning in the parking area of one of our North Charleston, S.C., restaurants.”
“An apparent parking lot shootout between three men led to our associate’s death, and what we believe to be nonfatal injuries to one of our customers, who we understand was waiting to pick up a to-go order. We remain concerned for our customer’s condition and hope she will have a full recovery.”
A suspect, Rico Joy, 39, was later arrested by the police in connection with the shooting.
According to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, he faces charges of murder and attempted murder, as well as a weapons charge.
According to WCIV, Waffle House said is cooperating with police in the ongoing probe.
