Colin was simply everything I would want in a student. He was authentic and kind, friendly and compassionate, confident and a natural leader. He made my world a better place and he made me a better Oblate and a better priest.
Tonight, surrounded by so many of his classmates who loved him, I was so deeply reminded of the gift that is this Salesian family. And I am so grateful to have the opportunity to teach, form, mentor and love students like Colin and his classmates who were here tonight.
Eternal Rest Grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. I love you Colin.”

Alex Nyman said; “I received the terribly sad news that my dear friend Colin Brady died recently and I’m so very sad. He was a remarkable man. I felt honoured to call him a life long friend even though we hadn’t seen each other in 20 years I knew that if we were to ever meet again it would be as if no time had passed. He was a legendary drummer and educator and had the most wonderful sense of humour.
We spent so much time together in our teens and 20’s playing and exploring musical ideas that stay with me to this day. I felt I couldn’t work today until I’d played something that came from my heart for him. This was the first thing that I recorded and seemed to fit our lives both together and apart but working towards the same goal of peace and happiness. This is a truly sad day for me and I wish with all my heart I could have spent some time with Colin before the end. I know that his spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of all those he taught and played with and who, like me, got to spend time with a man of integrity, honesty, passion and above all a love for life and music. Colin I will never forget you. Love. Alex”
