RIP to the great Hank Aaron… I have a few mementos I truly cherish… my Mom wrote him a letter during his home run chase of Ruth and she received this letter back. pic.twitter.com/bTlbWI93cw

On Hank Aaron: The three things that helped my dad and I bond back when were the 1986 Mets, the clip of Aaron passing Ruth, and the Giants-Broncos Super Bowl. Whenever something happens tangential to one of those three, I get a little misty. RIP King.

Hank Aaron was, without question, most known for his home run record. But the man had 3000 hits besides his home runs. He came close to a triple crown 3 times. He was an excellent right fielder. Just a complete ballplayer. And even better human. RIP.

Too young to watch him play but loved the stories my dad told me as a kid. RIP Hank Aaron.

Oh man. My son’s name is Henry, and while we didn’t specifically name him after Hank Aaron (my wife had two grandfathers named Henry), we definitely call him “Hank” because of Aaron. RIP.

“Hammerin’” Hank Aaron. It was a privilege to interview you several times. You were a childhood hero and still are the Home Run King IMO. Great man. #RIP You earned everything.

The thing about Hank Aaron is he was a complete ball player. Yes, he’s the king of the long ball, but he was a great player in the field as well. RIP to a great human being!

#HankAaron remains the most underrated ballplayer in history. The singular focus on his HR record took away from the rest of his accomplishments. Most RBI, most total bases, 4th in runs, 3rd in hits, 5th in WAR, etc. Plus all the racist bullshit he had to deal with. #RIP
