“The measure of a man, can be found in the friendships he keeps” Sophocles.
The measure of Glen Hogstrom is clearly immeasurable.
Rest peacefully. Love to Chloe Dallimore ❤
I was shocked to read of the passing of Glen Hogstrom today. Literally shocked. Glen was such a strong, powerful person that he seemed unassailable, and it was unthinkable that he had been overpowered by anything.
To me, Glen was the soul, the core of the shows I shared with him, and I daresay he was these same things for every show he was in. His was the gentle strength that steered the casts through all the different trials and tribulations they encountered. As others have said, he had your back. But he also had the back of the productions themselves, able to step up and do whatever was required to keep them on track during performances, and to hold the show family together with his generous advice and love of spending time with each of them. Glen loved being part of shows deeply, and it showed in the enormous contribution he made to all of them.
Thank you Chloe for sharing that Glen spent his last days back in the world that meant so much to him, and that he meant so much to. It seemed that the Universe honoured him so much to let him pass with love and joy in his heart. Glen richly deserved to be honoured in that manner. Thank you Glen for being the wonderful person you were.
We lost one of the Very Good Ones last night. A true gentleman. Hoggi, I will miss sitting on my couch comparing home brews and Norlane houses. Rest well, dear friend xoxo Glen Hogstrom
Before working cruise ships I was an awkward nerd. I still am, of course, but ships stretched my comfort zones, and taught me how to have fun in a crowd. It was an effort to attend organized events, and inevitably there came a point when I would sneak away from the party to sit alone on the sidelines playing with my camera.
In many of those moments it was Glen Hogstrom who would step away from the limelight to seek me out. He’d sit with me, engage me in conversation, and almost always make me laugh. I remember his kindness and good humour, and genuine interest in my perspective. As others joined us, it felt like Glen brought the party to me.
You can’t really see us in this shot, but the feeling is there: laughing with Glen in the background of the fun.
RIP friend. And thank you for seeing me 💜
