DJ Death – A man who the authorities have identified as DJ, who served as sous chef in Minneapolis restaurant Hai Hai, has drowned trying to save another from drowning.
This sad incident happened on Thursday evening when DJ was reported to be missing after he went to help a swimmer who was struggling at Lake Minnetonka, says the authorities.
According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, the decease and two women went into the water to help a woman who fell into the lake from a pontoon, after which the three women were able to make it back aboard the pontoon but unfortunately, DJ went under water.
His body was found on Monday afternoon, July 20, in about 55 feet under water by the recovery team.
The Hennepin County Sheriff David Hutchinson in his statement said: “Every drowning death is a tragedy. It’s especially sad when someone loses their life attempting to save another. Our sincerest condolences go out to the friends and family.”
Chef Christina Nguyen, of northeast Minneapolis restaurant Hai Hai, on Monday described the deceased as “big-hearted, kind … and a chef that put soul into whatever he cooked.”
