Duncan MacKay has died at the age of 82. Celtic Football Club mourns the death of the former player who recently passed away.
Duncan MacKay was simply called Dunky. He played for the Hoops between 1955-64, making 236 appearances and scoring seven goals, is rightly considered a Celtic great. His first-team debut came in August 1958, in a League Cup tie against Clyde at Shawfield, which Celtic won 4-1, and he soon established himself as first-choice right-back in the team.
Celtic Football Club @CelticFC on Twitter posted the below message.
“Everyone at #CelticFC is saddened to hear of the death of Duncan MacKay. Our thoughts and prayers are with Duncan’s family and friends. We will be wearing black armbands at today’s game in memory of the former Hoops player. RIP, Duncan. ?”
