Jean-Claude Pecker died recently. He was AU General Secretary 1964–1967, an astronomer and humanist who was highly influential in the development of the IAU and its programmes before he passed away. Friends and families of the deceased had took to Twitter to express their grieves and a lot of people had been sending condolences.
