Joe Knox Death | Obituary – Joe Knox age 72 sadly passed away last night July 21st, Joe was the founder of 100.1 WJRZ in 1974.
The station was originally licensed to the Jersey Shore Broadcasting Corporation, which was incorporated in New Jersey in 1974, with Joe as President. The station signed on as an affiliate of the ABC Radio Network.
On July 4th, 1976 100.1 WJRZ began local programming out of the very same building we are still in today located in Manahawkin. Joe held ownership of WJRZ until 2002 before selling to Greater Media (now owned by Beasley Media Group.)
