John Joseph Miller Death – The police have confirmed the death of a fisherman who drowned to death in a Manistee County lake on Tuesday, August 18. The victim has been identified as 74-year-old John Joseph Miller of Arcadia.
The police reports that Miller was found around 10.29 a.m on Tuesday floating 75 yards from the shore in Arcadia Lake.
The police received the report of a missing person from Millers brother who informed the troopers from the Michigan State Police Cadillac Post that Miller had been fishing.
Miller was brought to the shore by the Arcadia Township Fire Rescue who responded to the scene and with the help of a local resident with a boat. CPR was performed by Arcadia Fire Rescue but it proved futile.
Investigation is still ongoing.
Pending the autopsy report, it appears Miller fell in the creek and drowned, say the police.
