Lee Coggins Death – Obituary, Funeral, Cause Of Death
Lee Coggins was an advocate, fighter, philanthropist and friend. It is with great sadness that we share of Lee’s passing earlier this week following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. After her diagnosis in 2017, Lee made it her mission to help the women receiving treatment next to her. She selflessly made and sold teal ribbons for awareness, created chemo care bags, and provided financial help to ensure others were comfortable, loved, and supported. Her heart for others was the biggest gift she could have given. Her passionate vision has grown and touched so many, creating an impact that will be felt for years to come.
Last year, Lee’s friends and family founded the Lee Coggins Patient Care Fund at HHF in her honor. Many of you joined and have helped raise $250,000 to date. These funds will carry on Lee’s legacy and desire for future patients to receive wigs, comfort care items and financial assistance. Lee will be deeply missed, and it was our greatest honor to know her and help further her cause.
Visitation will be held tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Whitesburg Baptist Church. Celebration of Life will be Friday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at the church. A graveside burial will follow for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, Lee’s family has asked that donations be made in her memory to her fund.
