Leroy Jordan Death | Leroy Jordan Obituary – Leroy Jordan who became the first Black male teacher in District 186 back in the mid-1960s, has been confirmed dead in a tweet made on the 7th of September 2020 by WMAY News (@WMAYNews). He was also part of the landmark 1970s court case that led to a consent decree requiring desegregation of Springfield public schools.
Jordan passed away on Saturday, 5th of September 2020 at the age of 78. WMAY News stated that Jordan served on the Springfield school board and was an administrator at the University of Illinois Springfield. We extend our condolences.
