Maurice R. Bowman, Jr. Death – The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday, July 29, released the identity of the Madison fatal shooting victim who was shot and killed on Saturday, July 25, as 24-year-old Maurice R. Bowman, Jr., of Madison.

According to the Medical Examiner’s Office in a statement,  Bowman died of “homicidal firearm violence” following a shooting Saturday night on the Southwest Side that also left another man injured.”

Reports have it that Bowman was an occupant in a vehicle, which was being driven by a 22-year-old Madison man, when at least one person shot at their car from another vehicle as both vehicle were driving on the 900 block of Chapel Hill Road, says Madison police.

Bowman was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital. The driver was also taken to the hospital and is expected to survive, says The Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Police spokesperson Joel DeSpain said the shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. and so far no arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning.

Investigators are currently following several leads, says DeSpain.
