The California Highway Patrol said that a collision between a pickup truck and a box truck occurred on the shoulder of Interstate 80 near Vallejo on Thursday morning. The collision resulted in the death of an 18-year-old man from Oroville and the injury of another guy from the same city.
Officer Jason Tyhurst, the public information officer for CHP-Solano, said that the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup, Javy Martin, 27, suffered minor injuries and was taken to NorthBay Hospital for treatment. Tyhurst stated that their truck was driving westbound on Interstate 80, east of Magazine Street, at ten in the morning when it exited the interstate and collided with a box truck that was disabled on the right shoulder, resulting in the death of an 18-year-old man.
