Peter Green Death | Obituary – Renowned guitarist and songwriter, Peter Green has died at the age of 73. The cause of death was not said but a statement from Swan Turton Solicitors said he passed away “peacefully in his sleep.”
In 1966, Green replaced Eric Clapton in John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers. Mayall told his producer, who was scandalised at losing Clapton: “He might not be better [than Clapton] now. But you wait… he’s going to be the best.”
Twitter Reacts To Peter Green’s Death
Rest In Peace, Peter Green. Founder of Fleetwood Mac, guitar legend and personal hero of mine. Before Stevie Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac and they became a pop rock band, Peter Green formed the band and they were an incredible blues rock band. He’s been a huge influence on me over the years. I actually did the “Peter Green Mod” to my last Les Paul because of his tones. His songs have been covered by many other legends over the years and will continue to be covered for years to come. Rest In Peace and thanks for the music & inspiration. #rippetergreen #petergreen #petergreenfleetwoodmac
Great loss to me following band since I was 16. The best with Nix, Fleetwood, Green, Buckingham, McVie’s, and Kirwan. BBC News – Peter Green: Fleetwood Mac co-founder dies aged 73 https://t.co/zPPNgRFzYt
