Philip Azzante Death – The identity of the man who died after a boating incident on Wednesday, August 19 off Ocean City has been released by the State police as 59-year-old Philip Azzante, of Alloway.

According to the police, another man identified as George Boos, of Thorofare was injured during the incident.

Boos was taken to the Shore Medical Center for treatment.

The State Police and the U.S. Coast Guard  and some agencies responded to the scene at 11.58 a.m upon receiving the report of the incident.

According to Tpr. Alejandro Goez, initial investigation revealed that Boos took the boat west to enter the Great Egg Harbor Inlet, when they lost control and were both thrown out.

Azante who was a passenger was later found by a Coast Guard helicopter and was recovered by Ocean City Beach Patrol.

Azante was pronounced dead at the dock in Longport.
