GRESHAM, Ore. – A 17-year-old was shot and killed in Gresham on Tuesday night, and police officials are investigating his murder.
Gresham Police officers were called out at about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday on reports of gunfire near Northeast 9th Street and Hood Avenue. They arrived to find evidence that a shooting had taken place, but no victims at the scene.
A short time later, 911 callers reported a car stopped near Southeast 182nd and Division Street with someone injured inside the vehicle.
First responders say they found 17-year-old Seneca Xavier Alexander, of Portland, inside the car with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to the hospital, however, he died of his injuries.
Gresham Police and the East Multnomah County Major Crimes Team are investigating what led up to the shooting and who was involved with Seneca’s death.
