Sir Ronald Harwood Death | Sir Ronald Harwood Obituary – We are deeply heartbroken to report that Sir Ronald Harwood has passed away at the age of 85. Ronald Harwood was an indefatigably hard-working playwright, novelist and screenwriter, who won an Oscar for best screenplay for The Pianist (2002), his adaptation of Władysław Szpilman’s book about surviving the Warsaw ghetto.
TheGuardian reported that Harwood was also a stalwart member of the Garrick club. He was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 1974, appointed a CBE in 1999 and knighted in 2010. We extend our condolences to his family at this sad time.
We’re sad to hear of the death of Sir Ronald Harwood. The stage premieres of his plays The Guests and Goodbye Kiss were staged at the OT in a double bill in 2000. https://t.co/kWhWBz38ky
