Troy Bowdish Death | Dies At 18 In A Swimming Accident

Troy Bowdish Death – The Salem Police Department have released the identity of a teenager who died in a swimming accident in Salem Wednesday, July 22, 2020, as 18-year-old Troy Bowdish of Dallas.

According to the authorities, just after 7 p.m Wednesday a 911 call was received on a swimmer in distress in the Willamette Slough, near Riverfront Park in Salem.

Immediately, the Salem Police Department and Salem Fire Department responded to the scene and began an initial search for the missing swimmer.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue was requested to respond to help coordinate search efforts as well.

The search was suspended for the night just after 10 p.m. after original attempts to locate the swimmer were unsuccessful and resumed Thursday morning, July 23, around 6 a.m.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, “Browdish was finally located by divers from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office a few minutes after 2:30 p.m.”
