North Dublin Death – The authorities have confirmed the death of a woman who was found dead  after being fatally assaulted in a house in North Dublin on Sunday evening, August 23.

The identity of the woman is yet to be released pending notification of her next-of-kin, says the authorities.

A male suspect believed to be in his 60s has been arrested and detained by the police.

According to a Garda spokesperson’s statement to Dublin Live: “Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal assault which occurred at a house in Kincora Court, Clontarf, Dublin 3 this evening, Sunday 23rd August 2020.

“A female, age currently unknown, received fatal injuries as a result of the incident. Her body remains at the scene. The scene is currently preserved and the State Pathologist has been notified.

“A male, aged in his 60s, was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 in Clontarf Garda Station.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
